JOHN CRANE MECHANICAL PACKING
Mechanical Packing Set
John Crane Packings are designed, engineered and constructed for specific services and applications. This is your assurance that John Crane Packings will provide the best sealing with the least amount of maintenance and adjustment
CRANE-FOIL®
Flexible Graphite Gasket
Crane-Foil® is a premium-grade flexible graphite gasket material used in a wide range of services, where conventional gaskets will not withstand extreme temperature and/or pressures. Crane-foil gaskets feature the benefits of graphite, including resistance to most fluids, high temperatures and pressure changes.
G58IEP
Fugitive Emission Control Packing for Valves
Style G58IEP low emission packing is certified to API 622, 3rd Edition and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines. This product is engineered for API 624-certified and other valves. John Crane’s low-leakage packing withstands high temperatures while preventing stem corrosion. Style G58IEP is ideal for volatile organic compounds (VOC), light hydrocarbon and steam applications. This new product underscores John Crane’s commitment to supporting customers―such as those in the oil and gas and chemical industries―in their efforts to reduce emissions and reach decarbonization goals.
1330/1332/1335/C1061
General-service Braided Synthetic Packings
John Crane styles 1330, 1332, 1335 and C1061 are cost-effective general-service packings constructed of the highest-quality synthetic fibers and lubricants. These products are designed to handle a wide range of fluids at moderate to high temperatures, pressures and shaft speeds. These styles are thoroughly impregnated with PTFE to enhance chemical resistance, lubricity and dimensional stability. This helps to ensure even gland load distribution and to promote longer packing life.
1345/1349/1349HC
Abrasive Service Polyimide Packings
John Crane styles 1345, 1349 and 1349HC are constructed of high-tensile strength abrasion-resistant fibers. These packings service a wide range of abrasive and slurry services, temperatures, pressures and shaft speeds with excellent chemical-resistant characteristics. These styles are colorfast and offer the strength and chemical-resistance of aramid fibers without subjecting the shaft or sleeve to excessive damage. They feature dimensional stability, resilience, conformability and extrusion resistance. John Crane recommends that a flush be used with these products.
1600N/100CU/100AL/124
Flexible Metallic Packing
Styles 1600N, 100CU, 100AL and 124 are flexible metallic or crinkled packings designed for a wide variety of high-speed, temperature, pressure and viscosity applications. These strong, compressible packings demonstrate remarkably good shaft conformability and low friction characteristics for metallic packings.
1625G/1626/1635G/N1635
High-temperature Graphite Braided Packings
John Crane styles 1625G, 1626, 1635G and N1635 are the ultimate in packing, offering the ability to perform in both high temperatures and a full range of chemical services. These packings meet the demands of today’s high-performance requirements. Constructed of the highest quality, continuous filament graphite fibers, provide superior sealability and heat dissipation with minimal flush.
1650C/1655C/1627/G57
High-temperature Carbon Braided Packings
John Crane styles 1627, 1650C, 1655C and G57 are high-performance braided packing offerings that have the ability to perform in both high temperatures and full range of chemical services. Meeting the high demands of today’s performance requirements. Constructed of the highest quality 95 percent carbon assay fibers, offering superior sealability and heat dissipation with minimal flush.
1772/1774/1775/1777
Injectable Packing
John Crane injectable packing consists of chopped, braided packing fibers combined with a controlled blend of greases and lubricants, resulting in a superior product favored by maintenance mechanics. Its pliability makes it easy to apply. This material can be injected via a high-pressure gun or can be packed by hand. John Crane injectable packing will conform to any size stuffing box.
2160/4160
Non-asbestos Sheet Gasketing
John Crane Style 2160 and Style 4160 sheet gasketing are general purpose materials that have excellent chemical resistance. The unique properties of these materials help to deliver excellent performance and sealability in severe industrial applications including alkalis, organic acids, and marine engines.
387I
High-temperature/Pressure Steam Packing
John Crane Style 387I is a special high-temperature/pressure and corrosion-inhibited valve stem packing specifically designed for steam valve service commonly related to power generation.
894/1336/1340
General-service Braided Graphite Packings
John Crane styles 894, 1336 and 1340 are cost-effective graphite general-service packing constructed of the highest-quality synthetic fibers and lubricants. These products are designed to handle a wide range of fluids at moderate to high temperatures, pressures and shaft speeds. These packings are thoroughly impregnated with lubricants to fill braided voids in order to reduce product penetration. An external graphite coating is added for lubricity and to enhance heat dissipation for increased packing life.
